How We Talk about It Matters

The article How We Talk about It Matters published by SAMSHA, describes how the media helps influence public attitudes and opinions regarding behavioral health.  The Carter Center in consultation with behavioral health experts, former journalists, and bloggers launched the “Resource Guide for Reporting on Behavioral Health: How You Talk About It Matters.” This guide provides relevant and useful information to the media about mental illness and substance use disorders and includes tips and supporting facts that can help ensure that representations of mental illness and substance use disorders are fair, balanced, and accurate.
