The New York Department of Health (DOH) has partnered with the medical review abstraction vendors, Verscend and MedReview Inc., to conduct Medicaid medical record collection and abstractions for all PPS’s participating in Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) program. Verscend will be contacting providers September 18, 2017 or soon thereafter for medical record collection and abstraction purposes. The process concludes February 16, 2018.
Six HEDIS measures (controlling high blood pressure, comprehensive diabetes care, prenatal and postpartum care, frequency of ongoing prenatal care, childhood immunization status, and lead screening in children) and two State-developed non-HEDIS measures (screening for clinical depression and viral load suppression) will be included in this collection effort.
As part of the Community Partners of WNY DSRIP program, collecting this data is essential to quality improvement and is tied to future performance reporting. Your commitment to this process and attention to assure these requirements are fulfilled in a timely manner is appreciated
