You’re Invited to an Upcoming Training: Tuesday, November 14, 2017, 4:30-6:00 pm at the CHS Regional Training Center.
CPWNY and Community Health Workers of Buffalo are holding a Cultural Competency and Health Literacy training session to help inform our healthcare providers and staff of our diverse communities.
This training is designed to help meet the needs of diverse patient populations, assist providers with effectively communicating with their patients, and consequently improve outcomes (i.e. decreasing no-show rates, increasing patient compliance, improving health status).
Cultural competency and health literacy training for providers is now mandated under NYSDOH Medicaid Re-design/DSRIP. We believe it will also support you with PCMH recognition, HEDIS scores, the shift to value-based payment and improve patient experience in care.
This training is being delivered by the Community Health Worker Network of Buffalo, who brings a wealth of experience from the community, healthcare and social/human services. Their training team includes Community Health Workers, healthcare and public health professionals, and community-based leaders.
The training has been very well-received by those who have attended!
