HANYS’ Opioid Summit: Innovative Collaboration for Change is designed for healthcare professionals delivering opioid use disorder prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery services across the continuum of care. This education and networking event will explore innovative opioid use disorder programs and evidence-based strategies, offering resources, tools, and best practices. The Summit will be held at the Saratoga Springs Holiday Inn on Sept. 24 and will be followed on Sept. 25 by buprenorphine training for eligible clinical providers.
Sessions will include education on health equity and integration of medication-assisted treatment. This event will also cover topics related to early identification, stigma, pregnancy, harm reduction and treatment of infectious diseases for people with opioid use disorder. In addition, HANYS will offer a free, in-person Buprenorphine Waiver Training on Wednesday, Sept. 25, in partnership with the New York State DOH AIDS Institute. The course is required for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and medical residents seeking to qualify to prescribe and dispense buprenorphine.
Registration can be found here, but space is limited and sign-up ends Sept. 10.
