VBP Forward: The Workshops offered in our area!

The CBO Consortium of Upstate New York has partnered with VBP Forward to bring to our members an exciting training opportunity. VBP Forward: The Workshops will be offered in Buffalo, Syracuse and Albany this Fall and will focus on building the capacity of community-based organizations in fostering stronger sustainability through value-based payments and contracting. The workshop will include four unique sessions facilitated by industry experts. It will combine didactic learning and group collaboration towards the goal of building stronger organizations. The CBO Consortium of Upstate New York has provided their eligible member CBOs the opportunity for one agency representative to participate in the Buffalo, Syracuse or Albany workshop as part of full membership at NO COST. DSRIP 2.0! MRT Waiver Extension Amendment Request Released For Review, Let Your Voice Be Heard!

The New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) has released the draft of an amendment proposal to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for the Medicaid Redesign Team (MRT) waiver, the purpose of which would be to extend the DSRIP program through to march 31, 2021. This extension would then be renewable every year for a total of four more years of DSRIP, going through March 2024.  The goal in extending the program is to further support quality improvements and cost savings that have been achieved through the DSRIP program.

The NYSDOH is calling on stakeholders to submit written comment to them by email at 1115waivers@health.ny.gov or by mail at the address below. All comments must be postmarked or emailed by November 4, 2019.

 

Health Care in 2020 and Beyond – Expert Discussion

The University at Buffalo School of Management and the American College of Healthcare Executives will be hosting a forum to discuss the pressing questions for the future of the healthcare industry. Some of the topics covered will be increasing pharmaceutical costs, the evolution of EMRs, payor model uncertainty, and patient care and access. To answer questions about these topics, the program will feature keynote speakers Mark Sullivan, Jody Lomeo, and Candace Johnson who are all President and CEO for their organizations: Catholic Health, Kaleida Health, and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, respectively. Expert in the field, including various consulting and educational center representatives, will also share their insights on these topics in four different expert discussion panels.
