The upstate public comment day will be held on October 30, 2019 at the Oncenter’s Carrier Theater, 421 Montogomery Street, Syracuse, NY 13202. This will be an opportunity for stakeholders to voice their opinions either in person at the meeting, or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org through November 4, 2019 (please include “1115 Public Forum Comment” in the subject line).
The 1115 waiver, or Medicaid Redesign Team (MRT) waiver, is:
- an agreement between the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and New York State that allows the State to use a managed care delivery system to deliver benefits to Medicaid members, create efficiencies in the Medicaid program, and enable the extension of coverage to certain individuals who would otherwise be without health insurance.
- a vehicle by which the State has implemented the initiatives of MRT and subsequent health systems reforms, including the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) program.
- A step toward New York’s goals in implementing its MRT waiver include improving access to health services and achieving better health outcomes for New Yorkers through multiple programs.
This meeting will be webcast live at: https://www.health.ny.gov/events/webcasts/, and will be open to the public. Registration will begin at 10:30am, no pre-registration is required. Individuals who wish to provide comments in person are asked to register on-site no later than 12:00pm, and will speak in the order of their registration.
